Other Teams

At Ozone Robotics, we are all about preparing kids for the future, and we have other teams for those of elementary and middle school age within the district. These teams are also a part of FIRST but at different levels, so we can ready them for what’s to come, and expose them to engineering in every way we can. This is our way of mentoring and helping to train our future team members before they enter high school and join our FRC Team.

Middle School FTC

During middle school, kids can join Ozone and compete in FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge), which is a similar competition to FRC, but on a much smaller scale. Robots are usually constrained to a 12×12 box and hardware limitations are much more prominent. This provides a much better competition for smaller or less funded teams, and allows them to compete with others more fairly. Ozone Robotics parents and mentors three FTC teams, so everyone can join. FTC is mainly a high school competition, so we are incredibly proud of what these middle schoolers have been able to do. Ozone FTC is open to any middle schooler in the Olentangy district.

Ozone X

Ozone X is a team of all girls ranging from 6th grade to 8th grade. They are the first all-girls team Ozone FTC has had. Their goal is to show that Girls and Women have a place in Robotics and the STEM Field.

Ozone Y

Ozone Y, formerly known as Ozone Jr-6/7, is our 6th and 7th grade team. They show that in a competition of mainly high schoolers, even the youngest can design and drive a highly competitive robot.

Ozone Z

Ozone Z, is the new Ozone Jr-8, and is now a team made up of 7th and 8th graders, instead of the formerly only 8th. This team is constantly at the top of their matches and is even seen helping out their sibling teams. This is the next group of Ozone FRC Members and we work hard to prepare them for their future challenges.
