At Ozone Robotics, we are all about preparing kids for the future and exposing the youth to STEM to prepare them for the future. In order to maximize our impact on the community we run teams for the elementary and middle schoolers within the district. These teams are also a part of FIRST but compete at different levels, so we can ready them for what’s to come, and expose them to engineering in every way we can. These teams build valuable life skills such as teamwork, communication, real-time problem solving, and the engineering process at a young age. This also serves as a pipeline for future Ozone high schoolers who plan to join our FRC Team as FRC students are encouraged to mentor these teams.
Middle School FTC
During middle school, kids can join Ozone and compete in FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge), which is a similar competition to FRC, but on a much smaller scale. Robots are usually constrained to a 12×12 box and hardware limitations are much more prominent. This provides a much better competition for smaller or less funded teams, and allows them to compete with others more fairly. Ozone Robotics parents and mentors six FTC teams, maximizing opportunity for those in our community. FTC is mainly a high school competition, so we are incredibly proud of what these middle schoolers have been able to do. Ozone FTC is open to any middle schooler in the Olentangy district.
Ozone Red
Ozone Red, formerly Ozone X is our longest standing team, and has built a name for themselves in the FTC community over the years as they continue to evolve with the other teams.
Ohio State Championship 2026
Ozone Orange
Ozone Orange, formerly known as Ozone Y is our second longest standing FTC team and just like Red showcase the skills and name that these children have developed for this team over the last several years.
Ozone Yellow
Ozone Yellow is a team of all girls ranging from 6th grade to 8th grade. They are the first all-girls team Ozone FTC has had, formerly known as Ozone Z. Their goal is to show that Girls and Women have a place in Robotics and the STEM Field.
Ohio State Championship 2026
Ozone Green
Ozone Green is one of our new teams this year, but has already settled in perfectly and is competing at the same level as all of the others, showing that new teams are just as capable as those longer standing.
Ozone Blue
Ozone Blue is our second of three new teams this year, showcasing the incredible growth of the program as we strive to reach more of our community. Ozone blue has also competed exceptionally for being a first year team.
Ozone Purple
Ozone Purple is our third rookie and second team of all girls ranging from 6th grade to 8th grade. They are the second team Ozone FTC has had, and we plan for that number to only increase as we add more teams.
